Dear Students and Parents,
Wow!
I sure do miss my students! I hope you are all well and making the most of our time off.
FOCUS: My fourth graders in Mrs. Lawson’s and Ms. Grace’s homerooms did not have a copy of our novel delivered to them, so please ask students in those homerooms to study the vocabulary words in the slides (from today’s assignment for the other group of 4th FOCUS) on Wednesday, September 13. When we return to school, please ask the students to stop by my classroom or the media center to get a copy of A Wrinkle in Time so they can read chapter 2 for next Wednesday.
A.C. Math: Please continue to complete this week’s IXL assignment. Also, please copy and complete this subtraction problem. On the back of the paper you used, please check your work by adding. Be ready to share your really big answer when I get to see you again.
Also, please scroll through this presentation on making bar models (aka Singapore Math) to solve addition and subtraction word problems. I have included all the keys so you and your parents can try some and make sure you are getting the hang of solving these types of problems. We will go over these together when I see you again. Similar problems will be on your Grade 4 Unit Test at the end of this month.
Thank you!
Love,
Ms. B.
